Tawny Frogmouths are often confused with owls, but they're actually more closely related to nightjars. Their feet are weak and lack the curved talons of owls. Tawny Frogmouths often camouflage among tree branches, sleeping during the day. At dusk they shake their disguise and begin a nocturnal hunt for food that can be found in flight or by sitting motionless before swooping down on ground-dwellers preyed upon from above.
